The February Lip Monthly bag has arrived and been tested so that I can offer you my first impressions on all the lovelies I received!
1. Cosmoholic Liquid Lipstick
I received the shade Prudish Pink, and it’s a very subtle muted blush color. It goes on smooth, and makes your lips feel really moisturizer, which is always a huge plus with a product like this. It contains such things as Vitamins C and E, Jojoba, Macadamia nut oils, green tea. There’s also a little mirror on the side, which is handy for reapplication, and supposedly there’s also supposed to be an LED light in there wand, but maybe since I received mine in the subscription bag I didn’t get that fancy part; who knows. It is a really lovely shade, but you will need to reapply throughout the day. You can also layer this over another Lip shade for a little bit of customization action. Their website even says you can double this product as a blush, so that would be really interesting to try out. I am kind of bummed that my product doesn’t have that LED magic going on, but you can visit the brand at http://www.cosmoholic.com for more info.
2. Model Co. Lipstick
I have been using Model Co. for several years, and they’re products have always been fairly consistent quality wise. Side note: Hailey Baldwin has now also partnered with the brand for a signature line of products. This time around I received one of their long lasting lipsticks, in the shade Truffle. The formula is described by the brand as ultra-creamy, and yes, yes it is. I almost thought it was too creamy, like I had to be easy handed with my application so I wouldn’t make a smudgy mess. However, the formula is also very hydrating thanks to ingredients such as shea butter, cocoa butter, jojoba, and Vitamin E. It is marketed as an all day lasting product, but I found that because it is so creamy, I did need to reapply to maintain the richness of my desired shade. 3. Sugar, Matte as Hell, Crayon Lipstick
Yes! Matte. As. Hell. That’s a statement that will hook you in for sure, at least it did for me. I received this in the shade Poison Ivy, and I will have to say I was pleasantly impressed, as this was my first experience with the brand. I really like that it’s a crayon because I feel a little more controlled and precise with my application. It goes on smooth and creamy and then dries into the matte formula. If you want to keep the richness of the color throughout the day, you’re probably going to have to reapply. To strengthen the wearing power of your mate lipstick, always make sure your lips are exfoliated and moisturized prior to application, and then after you apply the lipstick, blot, and apply again. The one downfall here, for me, is that since I received mine in the subscription bag I didn’t receive he sharpener designed for three crayon, although it hasn’t been a challenge to get it sharpened as of yet. 4. Cargo Eyeshadow
I think we have all heard of Cargo. I have been using some of their products for a while, especially as a makeup artist. How I have not tried their Eyeshadows until now I do not know. I received a single shade in St. Tropez, a really pretty shimmery beige. These shadows are so velvety to the touch it’s insane. I’m in love. They go on smooth, and you can build the color up to your desired level of impact. You can wear it alone, which I have been doing for the everyday, or blend it easily to create more dimensional effects. Bonus, you can use it wet or dry, so customization is quite variable. The value of my bag this month was 60$, and I just paid the monthly fee of 12$, so big savings there for being a member. I have put my account on hold, not because I am displeased with them or anything, but because I am exploring some other monthly services and seeing just what vibes best with me. What I have subscribed to next is actually not beauty related, so stay tuned to see!
Do you participate in any monthly subscription services? If so, let me know which ones in the comments.
