I cannot believe I have yet to talk about Gina Rodriguez on here. Well, today is the day I show the Jane the Virgin star some love, as praise is thrown at her Golden Globe gown from this past Sunday. Continuing with the navy blue it color trend, Ms. Gina Rodriguez in Zac Posen:
Normally a plain, solid color ball gown doesn’t do anything for me, but this is far from plain; Zac Posen doesn’t do plain! I remember when his collection for Target came out. Ugh. I was more excited than any southern sorority sister at Lilly Pulitzer could have ever been! The color here is stunning, yes, but it’s the details up top that set everything off to be beautiful beyond words. The way the fabric is shaped into the bodice to create the off-the-shoulder look is so interesting, yet so lovely. The pleating, subtle as it is, that carries through the shirt is just enough, and the sheen of the gown isn’t obnoxious. Did you notice the pockets?! I don’t know what it is about a gown with pockets, but I am totally on board with the idea.
Her Neil Lane jewelry is the perfect amount of sparkle dripping from her ears and cuffing her wrist. I’m so glad she didn’t do a necklace here. She completes her look with a pair of Jimmy Choo’s, sleek hair, and a smokey eye. I definitely get the feeling that Gina Rodriguez is going to be one to watch on the red carpet in 2016.
