ipsy: with love from ipsy

It’s always good to treat yo self, so while I was happily wrapping and prepping my own gifts to give for the holidays, I was a tad bit delighted to receive my December glam bag in the mail yesterday afternoon. This is the last glam bag of 2015, so it was even more of a delight to have some great brands and products tucked away in the red quilted bag:

/Be A Bombshell Mechanical Eyeliner/

You can never have too many black eyeliners, am I right?! I prefer a gel or liquid liner on my upper lids, but a great pencil is my weapon of choice for my lower lines. This mechanical one, in the shade Wild Child, is a great black to get into your water line smoothly. Plus, since it’s mechanical all you have to do is give that bad boy a twist, no pencil sharpener required. Bonus Jonas: it’s also water resistant. Additional Bonus Jonas: if you shop at http://www.beabombshellcosmetics.com and use code Ipsy30 at checkout you will not only get 30% off your purchase, but also a FREE eyeshadow quad.

/CoSTUME NATIONAL So Nude Eau de Parfum/

So often I get perfume samples and they are so heavy on the floral or fruity notes that I cannot deal. This one, thank you, was so lovely + warm; not to mention it was an amped up sample size compared to the tiny glass tubes most of us are accustom to. The scent is a blend of cardamom and cumin with neroli. There are floral notes of ylang ylang, Damask rose and tuberose, but they are warmed up thanks to a base of cedarwood, sandalwood, and patchouli. It’s a very sensual fragrance, particularly great for this time of year (especially if it chooses to get cold here on the East Coast any time soon). You can pick up a full-size fragrance at Barney’s.

/Pacifica Power of Love Natural Lipstick/

I’ve really come to quite like Pacifica since being introduced to their brand via ipsy. This creamy, super pigmented lipstick was another great gem from them. I received the shade Nudie Red and even though it’s a red color it’s tones down, and neutral enough to be a great everyday shade. Coconut oil, shea butter and Vitamin E make the formula really moisturizing, and of course I super love that it’s cruelty-free! Use code poweroflove when you checkout at http://www.pacificabeauty.com to save 20% off your purchase.

/IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes Clinically Proven 5-in-1 Mascara/

Mascara is my thing, you guys! IT Cosmetics seems to be growing leaps and bounds as a relevant brand, and with this mascara it’s easy to see why. If you want volume this gem can amp your lashes by up to 430%; it was developed by plastic surgeons y’all! The 5-in-1 formula serves as primer, mascara, peptide growth serum, tint, and curler. Can we talk about the wand though?! The shape was definitely one I haven’t come across and is actually super cool, check it out:

Ignore its phallic presentation, the ball tip is great for grabbing all those baby lashes, giving them volume and curl. I was also a sucker for the plush grip on the handle; rad packaging goes far!

/Marc Anthony Hair Care Coconut Oil and Shea Butter Deep Conditioning Treatment/

I always receive a lot of Marc Anthony products, and to be honest I test them out, but don’t really use them beyond that. I can at least tell you a little bit about this though. This is a weekly conditioning treatment containing coconut oil, grape seed oil, and Shea butter to help correct hair damage; also, biotin for body and shine. You can pick this, and other Marc Anthony products, up at Walgreens.

I made the comment before that this was the last glam bag of 2015, but it is also my last glam bag (for now anyways). I did make the decision to go ahead and cancel my glam bag subscription. Let me just say that this was not out of a problem or dissatisfaction I have with ipsy, it just seemed like it was time for me. I’ve discovered some amazing brands and products over the last 2 years, and am excited to move forward in 2016 bringing you reviews of products that I have personally curated and want to share!

Stay tuned for further reviews as such after the new year! To keep up, make sure you are following this blog! I’m also on Twitter and Instagram: jacquelinecxo.

Happy Tuesday!!
