ipsy: Beauty Blast

My rainy November morning (cue, Guns n Roses) started with cartoons and cold coffee (that at some point was, in fact, hot). Rainy days aren’t just ideal for mom life mornings, but also to catch up on stuff like this…you know, bloggy-blog stuff. They aren’t, however, so ideal for taking photos. That being said, all photos used for this ipsy open-box review come from the source, http://www.ipsy.com.

1. Jelly Pong Pong Liquid Gossamer

This liquid luminizer by Jelly Pong Pong was my favorite find from the November glam bag. I’ve heard of the brand before, and tried a few of their liners, but this was the first actual face product I’ve tried from them, and I can happily say I love it. It gives such a pretty glow to the skin, totally living up to its name. It contains no animal by-products and moisturized your skin as it luminizes. I prefer it as a cheekbone highlighter, but you could also highlight the browning and create really nice strobing effects. If you shop at http://www.jellypongpong.com, you can save 20% using code IPSY20 at checkout.

2. Luxie Beauty Matte Eyeshadow pan no. 290

Luxie Beauty was a new name to me, but being a cruelty-free brand certainly gave them instant brownie points. I received shade 290, a rich aubergine color; great for Fall. A fun fact on this one, besides being cruelty-free this shadow is also hypoallergenic, so it’s great for those with sensitive skin! I’ve been going a lot lighter on my lids lately, so I love this as a crease color; it reminds me a lot of one of my favorite shades in my Carli Bybel palette. If you want to shop with Luxie Beauty at http://www.luxiebeauty.com, you can receive 30% off at checkout using the code IPSY30.

3. SLMissGlam Boutique Blusher Brush

You can never have too many makeup brushes, right?!! Not only is this blush brush super pretty with it’s pink color, but this product is also cruelty free. With its super soft synthetic bristles you get a nice application that’s easy on your skin. The brand only makes pink brushes, and since I use only black brushes in my pro kit (an aesthetic choice), so this brush will be right at home in my personal collection! Visit http://www.slmissglambeauty.com and use code SLIPSY at checkout to save 20% on your purchase. I’m looking to give their eyelashes a try!!

4. Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara

I always love to see Smashbox, a personal favorite, turn up in a glam bag! With a mascara, no less! This Full Exposure mascara was created off the inspiration of layering a lengthening fiber mascara over another volumizing formula. This formulation by Smashbox promises: 104% increase in lash volume, 32% increase in lash length, and 34-degree increase in lash curl. Out of all the aforementioned, I definitely saw the most improvement in my lash volume. They looked nice and full, and dark! I didn’t experience any clumping, but I would definitely recommend allowing a little drying time between coats. You can purchase this wherever Smashbox is sold.

5. Coolway Stronghold Spray

Well. Yeah… Let’s briefly discuss this one. Right away I thought the packaging was horrible (and I do not like delivering a bad review). That awkwardly posed couple was not the best delivered first impression. The website itself is much more appealing, but first impressions tend to speak volumes. As for this spray formula, it left me feeling a little weighed down and sticky, which are big no-no’s when we are talking about hair products! Now, I will say that some of their other products got great reviews and do look promising. As for this one…yeah, I’m not ecstatically throwing gold stars at it or anything.

What are some of your November favorites?! Please share!
