Dear Hollywood: Volume 11

Dear Hollywood,

So we meet again; similar topics up for discussion, different day. Last time we talked about the rise in celebrity divorces for Summer 2015 almost keeping pace with the number of freak shark attacks here on the East Coast. I pleaded, please don’t let this sickness spread to Posh + Becks, and alas they are safe, but it seems you couldn’t be satiated with the broken vows in your wake as rumor has it this morning that Megan Fox + Brian Austin Green are calling it quits after 11 years, 5 of which they were married. The couple, who have 2 kids, the youngest 18 month Bodhi, have yet to confirm or deny this rumor so there is still hope. Fingers crossed they are safe from the crossfire of legal proceedings galore.

It seems quite natural to keep matters like divorce under wraps, whether you are of celebrity status or not. Celebs, however, are rightfully notorious for keeping much of their lives secret (who can blame them), including weddings! Recently Jennifer Aniston + Justin Theroux surprised guests with their home nuptials. We’ve also seen similar secrecy knots tied from Blake Lively + Ryan Reynolds, Cameron Diaz + Benji Madden, and lest we forget, even Britney Spears + KFed back in the day. Another couple, who also stunned the media with their secret wedding is Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tasha McCauley, are taking things a step further in keeping secret their pregnancy and birth of their new baby boy!

That’s right, the couple confirmed today that they in fact welcomed their first child, a baby boy, into this world. Celebs are pretty good about diverting media attention from their growing baby bumps until they’re good + ready (think: Eva Mendes + Ryan Gosling), but Joseph and Tasha definitely win the gold medal for secrecy in Hollywood with this one. I will further say, it’s good to see some good news in midst of Hollywood breakup season. A note to the celebrity elite: can we please end this summer on a high note?!!
