Another month has flown by! My days are jam packed with wonderous baby things (truly, I love it!), but I’ve been dipping my feet into going back to work as a makeup artist, and getting back into some sort of daily beauty routine; however simple that may ultimately be. In fact, I tore threw my May glam bag, “Jetsetter”, before I actually sat down and did my initial first impression swatches and what have you. So basically what I’m saying is, there was pretty good stuff this month!
This is the bag as seen on ipsy’s website, but mine, while essentially the same, was a little different in that it pictures the lipstick, as well as a makeup brush and mascara wand, and reads, “Pretty Important Stuff”…super cute; I dig it.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Lip Pencil + Bonus High-Color Lipgloss
Yass! I’ve yet to meet an Urban Decay product I didn’t fancy, and this is no exception. I’m also a sucker for a good lip product! The lip primer is a great base for your lip color, really boosting it’s lasting potential. The new Revolution High-Color gloss gives a super punch of color in one swipe and makes lips look nice and full…and who doesn’t love a plump pout.
Bellapierre Cosmetics Waterproof Mineral Gel Eyeliner Pencil
I haven’t heard of this brand before, but I needed to get my hands on some eyeliner real quick when I received my bag, so this was the first little gem I literally tore into. Luckily, this did not disappoint. The liner’s formulation is creamy which allows for a nice, smooth application. It has great color payout (I received “Ebony”), and definitely had a nice lasting quality to it, especially for a mineral based product. NUXE Reve de Miel Facial Cleansing and Makeup Removing Gel
Another new-to-me brand. I am always a tad skeptical to try new skin products, but I liked this one so much I stuck it right in my medicine cabinet to try again! It’s a soap free gel containing honey and sunflower that removed makeup, and cleanses the skin while also soothing. It lathers gently and really got in there and picked up makeup my initial sweep with a makeup did not. After rinsing my skin didn’t feel tight or overworked, it actually felt clean and refreshed. I loved how soft and conditioned it felt as well. I was so pleasantly surprised and I am definitely going to go ahead and recommend this one. If you head over and shop at http://www.us.nuxe.com and use code PARIS2015 at checkout, you will receive 20% off any purchase over 50$.
Pixi by Petra Beauty Bronzer
I’ve definitely heard of this one! And if you peruse the aisles of Target, then chances are you’ve been introduced to it as well. This is a bronzer from the Pixi brand, and great to use with the summer months rolling in. This silky formula, containing Vitamin E, gives you a natural kissed by the sun look, perfectly warming up your complexion for summer! It’s definitely something you can throw into your everyday makeup routine, still keeping it all pretty simple (if that’s your thing).
Bare Republic Naturals SPF 30 Mineral Face Subscreen Lotion
I’m fairly careful when it comes to protecting my skin, having had Melanoma skin cancer twice (note: May is Melanoma awareness month–get your skin checked! The 3-part posting about my first experience with the cancer can be found elsewhere on the blog). This is a 100% natural, chemical free formula. It’s lightweight, doesn’t leave your skin with a white coating, and doesn’t leave you feeling greasy application. Whatever you choose to use SPF wise, please make sure your are being sun safe, and keep an eye on your skin!
Hope everyone is loving the onset of summer, even though Springtime allergies kicked my but just a little today and I missed the Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness concert at the beach since it was too hot for my little man. I did have some Starbucks and do some grocery shopping though!! Saweet!!
