ipsy: Beautifully Bohemian

With festival season upon us all…hello, Coachella…the April ipsy glam bag, Beautifully Bohemian, is right on trend. After checking out what I received, I have to say that this is one of my favorite bags in a while, especially since I have been talking recently about how I wanted to revamp my everyday makeup looks. This glam bag came complete with some great little gems to look amazing this summer.

Hikari Cosmetics Blush

I first heard of the brand Hikari through ipsy when I received one of their lipsticks, which I loved! That being said, I was quite excited to have received this full size blush in my April bag. I was given the color “tango”, a coral-pink shade great for Spring and Summer. Not only is the color payout great, it is also easily blended and buildable so you can achieve a vibrant color as you desire. I also like that the product itself has a soft feel, so it doesn’t feel heavy when you apply. From what I have seen and tried of Hikari I absolutely love and would recommend. Plus, if you use code “hikari30” when checking out at http://www.hikaricosmetics.com you not only get 30% off, but you also score a free eyeshadow!!

Lather Ultra Light Face Lotion

Lather is a new brand to me, but why not give it a try. I’m an Origins girl through and through, so there were definitely expectations to be met. From my first impression of this particular product, I did like that it was very lightweight and didn’t have a greasy feel on the skin. It is botanical based so it has a light fragrance; nothing overpowering though. The only thing I didn’t care for was that I thought I could smell a rose note in the scent, but other than that, it was okay.

theBalm Cosmetics Nude Dude Eyeshadow Single

I love theBalm…everything about them, from the packaging to the product formulations….can’t go wrong.  Nude Dude is a triple-milled eyeshadow that can be built on alone or transformed, using just water, into a liner. I received the shade “flirty”,a shimmery golden Violet. Even after just one swatch the color appeared true to packaging, and it’s quite easy to build on and blend to create any number of looks. If you shop this brand online you can use code “ipsy20” for 20% off.

MicaBeauty Eye Primer

This is two months in a row that Mica Beauty has made an appearance in the glam bag, this time with an eye primer. It’s a relatively thick formula, somewhat thicker than, say, a MAC paint pot. It would definitely stand up to loose mineral shadows and pigments, as well as everyday eye shadows, without creasing. In addition you can use this eye primer to even out skin tone and take products from a shimmer to a matte finish. I can see myself getting use out of this product and am curious to see how it ultimately compares to other primers in my arsenal.

This stain by Mullein & Sparrow is not only all-natural, but vegan as well. The cute mini tin boasts a sheer balm that gives your lips (or cheeks) a very subtle wash of color (even though I totally wouldn’t shy away from the Bordeaux color it appears to be in the package). I also absolutely love the way it feels on my lips; they felt moisturized and more supple after the first application and showcased the perfect amount of glossiness. The light orange fragrance added to the overall sweet package. Use code “IPSY2015” when you checkout at http://www.Mulleinandsparrow.com to save 20% off your purchase.

Overall, a great little bag to kick off spring trend season, right?! Even though I won’t be attending any of these fabulous music festivals, I plan on having a great adventure of a summer, baby in tow. XOXOXO.
