The 2015 Oscar Trend that will Make You Blush.

The 87th annual Academy Awards (the “Oscars”) just wrapped up about an hour ago at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, California. Hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, the event gathered up the A-list elite to honor and celebrate motion picture arts.

As usual, my mind was primarily drawn first to the red carpet, where celebrity entrances were marked with a whirlwind of glamour that one could only come to expect from such an occasion as this. Now, I do have my Top 5 looks of the night pinned down, but I wanted to get this post up before I went to bed…a post talking about Red Carpet trends for the evening.

Pantone may have announced the 2015 color as Marsala, a rich burgundy wine shade, but it was all about lighter shades on the red carpet for the Oscars. Amongst the glitz and glam I began to notice a bevy of champagne nudes and blushes far outnumbering any other color trend. Granted, a lot of celebs stepped out in lighter fare, but it was the blush numbers that stuck in my mind as the trend for the rainy Hollywood night.

I do not necessarily want to go in and analyze these looks, but rather just call to attention the designers and entertainers that brought us this trend to discuss.
Let’s take a look…

The gowns on Keira Knightley and J.Lo do have more of a true nude color, but the ethereal nature of the soft hue was a perfect fit within the champagne-blush palette. While these dresses prove that elegance and glamour knows no color bounds, it also is perhaps hinting at a departure from the jeweled tone hues we’ve all been loving; perhaps in anticipation of upcoming Springtime months.

What are your thoughts on this color palette…rising trend or red carpet coincidence??
