ipsy: Thinking of You

I’ve put this off, and then put it off some more, so as I find myself quite busy around the house today putting away all the Christmas decor and painting my son’s nursery (well, the husband is), I figured I would pop on here and write a quick little something about the December ipsy glam bag to at least say it was done. I never anticipated to be this mentally and creatively drained with my pregnancy, and I’m hoping it’s just because this time of year (as tomorrow marks 4 years since my dad’s unexpected passing) leaves me often boggled anyway. So, to wrap up the glam bag/open box reviews for 2014 here is the “Thinking of You” bag:

As I mentioned in a previous post I wasn’t all too thrilled with this bag, especially since I consider the December bag to wrap up beauty greatness of the year. I just feel like it wasn’t so above and beyond, and apparently I’m not the only one who took this viewpoint.
The contents consisted of:

{Bumble and bumble Repair Blow Dry elixir}
I love B&b, but since I don’t frequently blow dry my hair this was neither here nor there for me; I haven’t even tried it out. I guess since I worked in a blow dry bar for sometime I just don’t go gaga so quickly over these things. However, I do put great stock in Bumble as a brand, overall, so I always recommend them when people are seeking out quality hair products. The Repair Blow Dry is actually a serum-in-creme elixir. It protects against heat while sealing split ends, allowing you to maintain your style for up to 3 days. Check out all of B&b’s line at http://www.bumbleandbumble.com.

{CAILYN Cosmetics Just Mineral Eye Polish}
I’ve come across the CAILYN brand before via ipsy, and one of the first things I’ve noticed is there rather unique packaging. This “eye polish” is made from 100% raw mineral powder, so while pay out potential is promising, make sure to use an eyelid primer to ensure longevity and prevent creasing. {Nourish Organic Renewing Eye Cream}
Lately I’m loving a good eye cream (maybe it’s a pregnancy thing), and this one seems promising. It’s meant to provide hydration to the delicate areas of skin around the eyes. Avocado oil restores and protects skin and maintains brightness. Moroccan oil contains restorative omega fatty acids to provide intense hydration and replenish; while Shea butter also moisturizes and softens skin. The overall formula is actually very lightweight and not too greasy, even accounting for it’s oil content. {NYX Cosmetics Butter Lip Balm}
This is a product I’ve used before and love. It’s a great product that not only provides great hydration to your lips, but also gives them a sheer wash of color. You can apply it in its own like any other balm, or over lined lips for a little extra pop. You can pick this product up wherever you can buy NYX, like Ulta or Target.

{tarte Deluxe Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 mascara}
I’m a mascara junkie through and through; hoarding full size and sample sized products alike, so seeing this little gem hit home. This is tarte’s best selling mascara as it lengthens, curls, volumizes and conditions your lashes. It also aims to deliver a 330% in lash volume…heck yes!! The mascara formula is also infused with olive esters to help nourish and protect lashes. This is definitely one to try! Visit your local tarte retailer or check it out online at http://www.tarte.com.

I’m hoping everyone has a great evening celebrating however you choose!! Be safe, though!! I myself am craving banana pudding so I foresee a trip to the grocery store.
Love and Love,
