Gifting Guide: For Her 2014

Today, as you surely know, is Black Friday. I am not one to fight off swarms of people for tvs, cook ware and assorted cheap frills, but I do enjoy finding a special gifty or two, or three; especially during the holiday season. I always anticipate my husband asking me what I want for Christmas (or my birthday, or our anniversary…), and I more often than not have to think it through. Well, if you’re looking for the perfect holiday gift for her, or for yourself, I’ve come up with a list of ten things right on trend, all for under 50$. Check out my gifting recommendations below.

1. Blanket Scarf
I love a good scarf and these blanket scarves are both fashionable and functional with all these upcoming chilly days and nights. I love the camel plaid one (pictured) from SoCal Gems ( They have several color options on the website and you can score one now for 39.99$.

2. Starbucks Tumbler
It is so not basic to get down with a Starbucks. Ok, the Pumpkin Spice Latte is the exception, but that’s not my thing anyway. Starbucks always has super cute tumblers and with all their holiday designs out there is a perfect mug for every coffee drinker on your list. The prices vary based on design, but this super cute Queen of Hearts stainless steel tumbler is 19.95$. Sneak a gift card inside for added good times! You can visit your local Starbucks or check them out online to see all the design options.

3. Statement Clutch
Just as I love a good scarf, I too love a good clutch! These embossed statement clutches from Express are super adorable and super affordable since right now they’re on sale for just 17.45$!! With cute embossed sayings like, “It’s ok to stare” and “I want it all”, you can probably go ahead and just get both!! Shop Express or to purchase, but hurry before the 50% off sale runs out.

4. Stylish Stationary
Kate Spade always earns gold stars for there cute, fashionable, stylish accessories and whatnots, and these cute Hello Darling correspondence cards are certainly no exception. For 30$ you get a boxed set containing 4 sets of each: 2 correspondence cards, 3 fold-over cards and 5 lined envelopes. The gold foil accents had that extra little bit of flare that make the set all the more holiday appropriate. Check them out for yourself at

5. Lipstick Collection
I’m a bold lip lover through and through so I fell absolutely smitten with this Studded Kiss set by Kat Von D. Seriously, look at those rich and bold pigments. I want them all!! For 39$ you get 9 shades in this limited edition set; including, Countess (matte hot orange red), Agatha (matte pale peach nude), Adora (metallic golden red), Sexer (iridescent fluorescent pink), Wonderchilde (iridescent neon lilac), Bachelorette (matte reddish fuchsia), Motorhead (matte black cherry), Lovecraft (matte mauve pink nude) and Hexagram (matte blood red). Sidenote, I also fancy a clever product name. Bonus, the lipsticks all smell of creme brûlée! This exclusive set is available through Sephora and I totally approve.

6. Foil Tattoos
These guys are everywhere, on everyone, from superstars such as Beyoncé, to beauty bloggers such as Carli Bybel. If you already love them, then add this “Roses are Gold” set available through Mr. Kate ( If you’ve been skeptical to try, or know someone who might get a kick out of these, then now is the time to try these out and amp up your holiday party looks with a little metallic embellishment. These particular packs also contain a hand painted watercolor magnolia, in honor of a 4 year old little girl, close to Kate, who is affected by Rett Syndrome. 1$ from every sale of these packs goes to fund Rett Syndrome research, so you’d also be doing some good for someone else. Right now you can shop these through Mr. Kate’s store on her website for just 9$.

7. Ambrielle Sleep Pants
These. Pants. Are. Amazing. They are perfect for sleeping if you like pants for that, or for lounging. I bought my first pair when I was in my first trimester because the material was said to keep you cool. I ended up going pack and getting another pair! The lightweight fabric is so soft and they are so comfy to lounge around in; I totally highly recommend these! They come in several colors and prints, and right now they are on sale at JC Penney for about 16$; such a bargain compared to when I paid full price 😉 Great stuff, you guys.

8. Soap & Glory
I dig this stuff; I remember when Target used to carry it! This set is a great alternative to the premade holiday bath sets that retail stores pack onto their shelves. For 25$ you get the Hand Food hand cream, The Righteous Body Butter body moisturizer and a Super Colour Sexy Motherpucker lip plumping gloss in clear, and a bonus Jonas pink rubber ducky. This set can be shopped through Sephora.

9. Weekender Bag
This exact bag is on my wish list. Every girl needs a cute, trendy weekender bag! Target gets a gold star for this one, although they carry several other patterns and colors as well. This one has a removable strap and is included on their buy one get one 50% deal. The bag is available at Target now for 39.99$, and like most of their accessories these bags are sure to fly off of shelves fast.

10. Mittens
Cute mittens are badass, why oh why do I not own more?! Forever 21 has these cute mittens/gloves that are pictured above, and they range in price from like 8$-12$. From snuggly flip top mittens to chic and stylish fingerless gloves you can pair with any look to look great and keep warm! Better yet, pair a pair (oh, wordplay) with a cozy blanket scarf to up your gift game! You can shop these pine it at your local Forever 21.
