It’s hard to believe that this time next week we will all still be wearing our stretchy pants due to overloads of mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato casserole….and so many other holiday yummies!! My pregnant self is smitten. Ask my husband, I was even in tears once last month because it wasn’t Thanksgiving. I haven’t been a big eater this pregnancy (not that I have any others to compare it too!), and I cannot believe I’m just over half way done! One thing I’ve made sure to stay on top of is my appearance in public; not in a vain sense whatsoever (believe me, at home, may the odds be in your favor if you’re stopping by), but it just makes you feel better! I’m sure other gals would agree, dressing up you and your bump can be a reward in and of itself. Thanks to the November ipsy glam bag I’ve come across a few new lovely gems to keep the holiday beauty game strong!
*Starlooks Gem Eye Pencil
The theme of this month’s bag is “Girl Meets Glitter”, and fittingly so we have this glitter liner pencil. I received the shade Ultra Olive, and although it’s lighter in shade than liner I usually wear, the metallic glitter finish is pretty ideal for creating festive holiday party looks. For being a pencil liner, the application is surprisingly smooth and creamy, not stiff and rough on sensitive areas of the eye. Right now you can get 20% your order at http://www.starlooks.com with code IPSY.
*Marc Anthony Oil of Morocco Argan Oil Volume Shine Hairspray
I’ve said it numerous times before, but I’ll make note of it again: I’m pretty picky about what I put into my hair. One, I like it to work well, yet smell good, and two, I don’t want my hair being weighed down or left stiff and crunchy. It’s a balancing act, I’m telling you! This particular hairspray by Marc Anthony, mehhhh. I do appreciate all the benefits that argan oil brings to the table but the smell made me instantly veto it’s use. Maybe my heightened sense of smell these days is playing a part, but after use I was flooded with memories of Aqua Net. The hold was mediocre, and at least it wasn’t all too sticky; there’s just other go-to products I prefer.
*SeaRX Birch Sap Moisturizing Lotion
I am unfamiliar with the SeaRX brand, so this was new territory. It contains minerals, oligoelements, and sugars combined with birch sap to not only moisturize, but also smooth and strengthen skin. From the sample given I cannot form a significant opinion on it’s benefits, but I can say that it is lightweight and contains no strong sent. To me, it does feel a little greasy upon initial application but after it settles into skin it feels fine. If you’re interested in trying this, or some of their other products, visit http://www.searxbeauty.com. Coupon code searxipsy will get you free shipping on orders over $50.
*It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer
This is my first time trying their concealer but thus far, I love it. It offers great coverage and has significant staying power. The concealer formula itself contains vitamins and anti-aging qualities, adding to its benefits. It’s blendable and won’t crack against your skin. All you have to do is warm a dab or two up in the back of your hand, dab on the area needed, and blend in. Simple stuff. This product is available in multiple tones, so there’s something for everyone! The brand website is http://www.itcosmetics.com and using code ipsy will get you 20% off orders over 25$…great time to grab some stuff for the holidays!
* J. Cat Beauty Wonder Lip Paint
I pretty much saved the best for last here, you guys! I’m head over heels with the stuff and for sure need all. the. colors!! I’ve used J. Cat lashes in the past and they’re amaze, so I had no hesitation trying this gem out. The color (I received Mad Splatter) is so pigmented and feels great on. The longevity is also great; I thought it was all rubbing off on a straw I was drinking out of earlier but when I checked it still looked incredible! I can’t say enough good. There are 15 shade options, and want to know one of the best parts…only 4.99$. Oh yassss! Can we say stocking stuffers and gifts-to-self. And with a 25% off code (25JCAT) at http://www.jcatbeauty.com, how can you not head over there and grab one, or 10.
Oh, what fun!! I love finding new beauty treasures that I know I will use again and again. I’m still thinking about the lip paint. And as we all get ready to deck the halls (I’m trying so hard to wait until after Thanksgiving to do so), there’s no reason we can’t all treat ourselves to a little pretty here and there. If you try one of these products for yourself please let me know what you think! Also, if you have any ideas for future posts comment with those too, whether it be beauty or baby related!
Happy Friday!! XoXoXo
