Trend: The Little White Dress

We’ve all heard of the LBD (Little Black Dress, in case you’re having an off day and need a little reminder). It’s perhaps one of the most addressed wardrobe staples to date. I don’t foresee that becoming an obsolete essential, well, ever; but, that’s not to say other pieces can’t run the gambit with just as much vigor. I am talking about the little white dress, the LWD if you will. 2014 has seen more than it’s fair share of this trend, and I only foresee it growing as these warmer months continue.

The LWD certainly gives off a lighter appeal than it’s darker counterpart, but all the same it provides a great foundation to build virtually any look upon. You can add those same color pops, play with monochromatic looks, draw interest to bold accessories, take a minimalist approach, and oh so more. Keeping shape and cut in mind, this is a piece that anyone can wear and play with.

Let’s take a little lookski at how the A-listers are rocking the look:

It’s pretty rad how one basic piece can be represented in so many different ways. This statement is not cookie cutter by any means; it’s as versatile as you want it to be. Granted we all can’t open our closets to Dolce, Ralph and Dior galore, but we can all still look good, even on a budget. Check out sites like nasty gal, tobi, lulus and forever 21. Their selections are always changing and I’ve seen some absolutely adorable LWD’s in the 20-30$ range.

xoxo
