Jessica Chastain: Knows how to Leaf an Impression

Jessica Chastain: Knows how to Leaf an Impression

Jessica Chastain is another one of those who I haven’t talked about, but probably should have before now! In a sea of ball gowns and couture, Chastain hit a photo call for “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby” at Cannes on May 18. Her black velvet jacquard Alexander McQueen fit-and-flare with leaf pattern (Fall 2014) was a happy change of pace for those with all eyes on Cannes Fashion. The strapless piece remained chic, yet little details like the double bands at the waist, and contrast amongst the leaf print, added that flirty femininity that complements her overall look.

The black jacquard looked amazing against her fair complexion, which was further complemented by her signature red locks, smokey eye and neutral lip color. One of my favorite things about her complete look would have to be her colorful Paul Andrew pumps. Their pop of pink color with multi-colored embellishments were just what she needed to merge chic and sassy in ideal balance (sn: are people still saying “sassy”?! That didn’t feel write to type, haha). Normally I wouldn’t think too much of this dress if I just saw it on a rack somewhere, but seeing the way this particular look was styled, I’m going to definitely be paying attention to the styling potential of pieces in the future. May the McQueen label continue to reign.
