Yesterday I did a little post on Adele Exarchopolous from Cannes Day 1, which in a way was a precursor to who I really wanted to talk about: Blake Lively. I have always loved her, from her Gossip Girl glory days to every showstopping piece she hits the red carpet in. Can we just take a moment to pay homage to her and Ryan Reynolds’ oh-too-gorgeous Met Gala get ups?!! Shut up. They’re perfect together (and side note, in case there was any wonder, I did give up on trying to get my Met Gala post up, I mean at this point there really is no point). Blake has naturally been spotted in a lot of Gucci lately, and her Gucci Premiere gown for the Cannes 2014 opening ceremonies was trend envying perfection.
The Bordeaux (deep wine) colored silk-chiffon dress featured a geometric neckline, which was both visually interesting and attractive, as well an open back and pleats. And how could we even ignore her Give-Angelina-Jolie-a-Run-for-her-Money thigh revealing front slit. I’ll say it again, shut up. That dress just spoke to beautiful structure and beautiful movement. Her Lorraine Schwartz jewels completed her look, partnered with her crystal embellished Casadei heels. Her smoldering smoky eye and (my favorite) her blonde locks pulled into that gorgeous braid. And I will say, I caught Blake’s Day 2 Cannes look, and yes…shut up!!
